Course Description and Learning Objectives:
• Fiscal notes and legislative assessments are crucial to conveying the impact proposed legislation has on IDPH.
• If you are responsible for providing fiscal notes or legislative assessments, this training is important for you!
• Training will cover how to fill out the templates, , how the information is used and provide clarity on who the target audience is and what information is useful to them.
In addition to this course, it is also important to register for the companion course, “Legislative Subcommittee Preparedness Update 2013, What to expect when your expertise is required”
- IDPH staff plays a role in the legislative process as subject matter experts.
- Expertise you provide to legislators impacts the decision they make.
- If you might be called upon to provide expert information to legislators this training is important!
- Training will cover how to prepare for speaking to legislators.
- Experienced IDPH staff will share their personal experiences.
- Training will be scheduled at the State Capitol, committee and subcommittee rooms.
